22 Nov Nelson BC Done In Style: Our Favorite Haunts In This Fantastic Town
More and more in my newsfeed I’m seeing Nelson BC this, and Nelson BC that. It looks like Facebook’s AI is not the only thing talking about Nelson, our clients are eagerly awaiting the opening of Whitewater Ski Resort and eyeing up heli-skiing packages from the world renowned Snowwater. We’re currently putting together a few new escapes for the area this week and watched to share some of our tips an hotspots that our team found during a recent trip.
We recently spent some time at the tail end of the summer up in Nelson, and it was a nice change from the Island lifestyle we’re used to. There was so much to do, see and most importantly eat at just about every turn in its downtown core.
The real estate market in Nelson has seen quite the rise this year which I think is great, more people living here the more the better. There are tons of great artisans living here, foodies and outdoor enthusiasts who call this city home. This has only enhanced the tourist experience and why we’re gearing up to do our part and promote the good life in Nelson.
Those seeking adventure with a rustic charm attached will feel right at home here. There are plenty of places to stay while in town but the team here at the Hume Hotel & Spa. Situated right downtown you have easy access to just about everything the city has to offer, you can’t beat this place.
We stayed here and I made good use of the room as my office for a week, a great change of pace from my normal day to day. The pub in the hotel was also a blast with locals and globe trotters mingled here just about every night. I met a great group from Norway one evening who fell in love with our beer rather quickly.
Nelson is definitely a foodie town with too many damn good places to go to during my short stay. When I was here I thoroughly enjoyed the Thai food from Busaba and some of the best food I’ve had in BC in a long time from Bibo. This restaurant has a lot of good going on in the kitchen and I could have come back here every single night.
Fresh Powder
Nelson BC is a great place to be situated for heli and cat skiing operations like I mention earlier on. Snowwater Heli Skiing is world famous for their excursions into some of the most pristine mountains in the world. These folks have the toys to get the job done and their expertise cannot be matched.

Don’t Miss These
The Kokanee Mountain Zipline is a ton of fun and one of the most unique zipline adventures I’ve ever been on. It’s best suited before the snow comes and is a blast for the whole family so long as you meet the age/height requirements.
The zipline shoots high through the treetops giving you stellar views of the surrounding mountains and lush forests. There’s not better way to see the area, as fast or slow as you like.
There are a lot of accessible day adventures from Nelson and we made a visit up to Ainsworth Hot Springs after a day of hiking. This is a great place to visit or even stay overnight to really soak it all in. The resort is as good as it gets in the area and the hot springs are well worth a day or two of kicking back.
